Position Objective:
The Structural Steel Estimator is responsible for preparing bid packages, conceptual estimates, and thorough analysis of contract bid documents for projects of medium size and complexity. Additionally, this role provides estimations for specific disciplines within large, complex projects. With a strong understanding of construction and sharp attention to detail, the Estimator plays a vital role in contributing to project success by delivering accurate and competitive estimates of structural steel projects that align with company goals and objectives.

2. Collaborate with project teams to understand project scope, specifications, and requirements.
3. Prepare comprehensive bid packages, incorporating accurate material and labor costs.
4. Develop conceptual estimates based on project outlines and preliminary information.
5. Analyze subcontractor bids to assess pricing, scope, and feasibility.
6. Collaborate with various internal departments to gather necessary data for estimation.
7. Utilize historical data and market trends to refine estimation accuracy.
8. Assist in the review of project risks and opportunities to provide value engineering insights.
9. Participate in bid review meetings, presenting estimates and recommended strategies.
10. Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of estimating processes and outcomes.
11. Stay updated on industry standards, construction methodologies, and cost factors.
12. Other duties as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· 4-6 years of structural steel estimating experience
· Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred)

· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
· Proficiency in construction plans, specifications, and industry best practices.
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
· Negotiation skills for subcontractor interactions.
· Proficiency in estimating software HeavyBid and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
· Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards and accuracy in estimates.
· Must possess a valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven, and an acceptable driving record.
