Leadership Team

PDC’s leadership team is innovative, inventive, experienced and entrepreneurial. We are driven by an enduring passion for creating
ever-faster cutting and hole-opening tools. We have longstanding experience in serving the needs of the oil & natural gas industry and the pipeline and utilities sectors. We are a hands-on team with a particular focus on solving our customers’ operational challenges through in-house research, design and manufacturing.

Cody D. Graham
Cody is a lifelong inventor and co-founder of PDC who has spent his entire, more than 25-year-long career, in the oil & natural gas service & supply sector. He has continually applied himself to making things go faster in all aspects of his life – and that is reflected in his singular focus on creating downhole drilling tools that cut faster.

Cody grew up in Alberta and began modifying tools and equipment as a teen-ager. Starting at age 16 he began working on drilling rigs and over a 10-year career worked in all rig capacities on drilling projects in four countries around the world. Prior to founding PDC, Cody held positions in sales and was vice president of manufacturing for Digger Bits and Oilfield in Alberta.

In 2001 Cody and his wife Julie founded PDC to supply custom drillbits. He soon began designing and manufacturing drillbits in-house, and in 2004 a PDC bit set the all-time shallow drilling record – 547 metres in 45 minutes – which still stands today. In the mid-2000s Cody developed a reverse-nozzle drillbit for which he filed a patent, which was granted in 2006. Cody has been the driving force in PDC’s development of the HydraMAX hole opener.

As President of PDC, Cody’s responsibilities include providing direction and leadership to the PDC team, driving PDC’s corporate governance and safety compliance, and being a hands-on resource for PDC’s clients. His enduring goal is to continue creating new downhole cutting tool solutions in response to customers’ needs.
